5 bad words you never say in sale copy

Today I will reveal my secret about using words those rock your news letter and sale copy. Here is following 5 bad words, you should never use in sale copy.

1- BUY, you should never every use word “BUY” in your sale copy, reason it shows that people have to pay money. So 99% chance they will close or delete your sale copy, news letter without reading. Instead of using BUY word, you should use CLAIM or INVEST word. Like you can write “Claim your copy of Making Money Online Secrets”.

2- LEARN is 2nd bad word which never use, reason when you say Learn, it shows WORK, someone have to put efforts. Instead of using LEARN, you should use DISCOVER word. Like you can write “Discover my SEO secrets for building money making site”

3- TELL, it’s 3rd bad word which you never want to use. i.e. if you tell me about yourself than I will give you tips… instead of using TELL, you should use REVEAL.

4- Another really bad word is “THINGS” never ever use it. It shows you are not really sure what you are going to sell or tell, instead of using it use “Tips, Tricks and techniques”, it is lot better when you are not sure.

5- Stuff, it is worse than THINGS word for sale copy or newsletter i.e. I am telling you some stuff. I am showing you some stuff. Instead of using it, use two word phrase “Insider Secrets”. If you know than it is secrete for other.

Hi Azy, good post. I would add the word BUT when introducing cons. You can change it to HOWEVER. ‘But’ and ‘cut’ sound too similar.

I’d suggest that for some sites avoiding the word “Buy” is next to impossible. I’ve worked on a number of online wine stores, and it would be a nonsense to tell visitors to those sites that they should “claim” their selections. There are times when visitors are there specifically to “buy” - Amazon is a case in point - and seeing the word isn’t going to suddenly put them off doing what they came there for, i.e. to buy something.

Great tips I especially like the use of “REVEAL” and “DISCOVER” in online copy, everybody wants to feel like they are getting to know something that not everybody is aware of.
