how to find your Niche?

niche-findingWhen i have started blogging in 2009, i used to see word “Niche” and all master mind bloggers i.e. Darren Rowse, John Chow, Shoe Money, David Risley, joel comm and other big name mentioned about niche.

Today i am trying to write how new blogger can find out niche to start blogging.

1- Follow Your Passion
2- Google Trends
3- Yahoo Answer
4- Go Micro
5- Think Long Tail

1- Follow Your Passion
First you have to find out what is your passion some people like music, movies, art and so. And never feel boring while doing discussion about it. Job history/experience relate to same niche also shows your interest/passion about specific niche.

As you know no body is interested to read anybody life until unless have something interested so first need to have your blog some VALUE which is directly relate to your niche. Means if you are master & have knowledge about specific topic like social marketing – Facebook and can write about it like how to build FaceBook page and so on. if you are developer or having previous experience to work as social network developer or marketer and passionate about it. It will really plus to your blog.

2- Google Trends
Google Trends is really one of interesting and useful app by google which shows what is trend for specific niche/keyword. you can use Google Trends tool to pick your niche in which you are confident and having knowledge.

3- Yahoo Answer
If you want to know answer about your question, there is 99% chance Yahoo Answer will show in Google Search. You can use yahoo answer to find more discussable, traffic oriented niche which relate to you. I.e you are mobile geek and find alot of discussion about iPhone so its mean you can write for iphone app, reviews and stuff. It will helpful to you while other searching for your niche there is chance you can be on top google search result which means you get alot of traffic.

4- Go Micro
Micro as by word show millionth/specific part of anything/subject, so you can also workout your niche accordingly, you want to have blog for Garden related, you can choice specific flower to write about. You blog consider to be as Garden Industry but you are specific to Rose flower so peoples those are interested in reading about Rose flower can be your reader.

5- Think Long Tail
You can write about Long Tail means you have to specify your visitor/reader, like you want to write about networking blog, and in it you want to focus on windows networking specifically windows 7 then you can write at “how to do networking in windows 7″ so in this regard you can specify your topic for blogging which relate to your niche.

i hope all these ideas will helpful during selection of your niche and blog domain name. if you have more ideas please share as comment.

Yes, you have to be passionate to stay consistent in marketing your niche. I use a Niche Keywords Finder to ‘go micro’ and to find ‘long tail keywords.
